‘Viral mugshot guy’ arrested in Lee County

The man who went viral across the nation last week for his massive neck has been arrested once again, this time in Alabama.

According to the Opelika-Auburn News, “Charles Dion McDowell, 31, was booked on charges including attempting to elude, second-degree possession of marijuana, reckless driving, driving with license revoked and improper lane usage, according to jail records.”

The arrest occurred on Wednesday morning in Lee County and stemmed from an incident that originated in Montgomery, where the “career criminal” fled a traffic stop and led police on a chase that resulted in McDowell escaping, just to be apprehended by Lee County deputies shortly afterwards using strip spikes.

Here is the post from his arrest in Florida last week that made him infamous:

In Florida, McDowell was charged with “Fleeing/Eluding Police with Lights & Sirens Active, Possession of Meth with Intent to Sell/Manufacture/Deliver, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell/Manufacture/Deliver Schedule II, Possession of Controlled Substance without a Prescription, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Equipment,” per the local sheriff department.

He made a $57,000 bond to get out of jail after that incident.

After his Alabama arrest, McDowell only had to post a $5,400 bond, which he did approximately seven hours after being booked on Wednesday.

His new mugshot showed off his huge neck once more, ensuring the puns and jokes will continue at a breakneck pace with McDowell at large again.
