In late October, we reported on a Facebook marketplace user named Michael Fortson, who was selling two burial plots at Elmwood Cemetery which just so happen to be 50 yards from legendary Alabama head coach Bear Bryant’s final resting place.
Fortson, who was seeking $12,000 for the plots, has now lowered the price to $10,000 according to a new Facebook post.
“I inherited these and I want to sell them – the lower asking price is just a little over the regular price you would pay at Elmwood,” Fortson said.
Over his 25-year tenure in Tuscaloosa from 1958 to 1982, Bryant brought the team six national championships and thirteen SEC titles and is widely considered as arguably the greatest coach in the history of the sport.
The spot is in Lot 23, Block 37 of the Elmwood Cemetery and you can contact Fortson directly on Facebook if you’re interested.
