The Birmingham Stallions are here to stay.
Throughout the offseason, rumors have persisted that the Magic City was no longer going to have a professional football team.
It was even reported as recently as July, that the Stallions were confirmed to be leaving the city along with relocations for the Michigan, Houston, and Memphis markets. The reports have been disputed by those in the know, leaving Birmingham with a major question mark for the last month.
During an appearance on WJOX 94.5 FM in Birmingham on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, however, league co-owner Mike Repole put the rumors to bed when he definitively stated that the Stallions are not going anywhere:

“I’ll say it right here,” Repole said. “The Birmingham Stallions are gonna be playing there next March…I’m glad that we’re gonna be a big thing in Birmingham…they are a dynasty. The fans should support them like that, so I’m all for Birmingham…The Birmingham Stallions will definitely be playing next season in Birmingham.”
The Stallions won the USFL two years in a row before the league merged with the XFL to form the UFL, eventually winning the inaugural UFL title as well. This past spring, Birmingham was halted in the USFL conference championship by the Michigan Panthers.
