UA alum named executive assistant to White House Press Secretary

Kieghan Nangle, an alumnae of the University of Alabama with a deep background in media and political affairs, was named executive assistant to White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt.

Nangle comes directly from the Trump-Vance 2024 campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC), where she coordinated media affairs during the 2024 election cycle. Prior to that, she interned with Fox News in Washington, D.C. and U.S. Senator Katie Britt’s (R-Montgomery) campaign in 2022.

President Trump recently named Karoline Leavitt, who served as his campaign spokesperson, to the role of White House Press Secretary. At just 27 years old, Leavitt becomes the youngest official to ever hold the post.

“Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator,” Trump said of his choice.

As executive assistant, Nangle is also one of the youngest officials in the administration after graduating from UA three years early to jump into the 2024 election cycle.

She’ll will serve as Leavitt’s right-hand in the White House alongside a deep bench of professional political communicators, also recently announced to their posts.

Nangle was heavily involved during her time at the University of Alabama, through the Student Government Association (SGA), honor societies, Turning Point USA, Concerned Women of America, and her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi.
