U.S. Rep. Palmer: ‘Interesting’ Dems want to control lives through vaccines, mask mandates but don’t want to take control of the streets

During an appearance on Newsmax TV’s Saturday broadcast of “America Right Now,” U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) offered his outlook for 2022 and his thoughts on how it compared to this time one year ago.

However, Palmer also alluded to the standard by which Democrats expect the country to handle the COVID-19 pandemic, which he suggested contradicts their attitude on public safety and police protection.

“They really feel like they can control what people do, John, and I really think it is about control,” he said. “It’s interesting that they’re trying to control the behavior of average Americans by forcing them to get vaccinated and these mask mandates they’ve tried to put on. Yet, at the same time, they don’t want to take control of the streets.”

Palmer added, “If you look at what’s happening in Chicago, if you look at what’s happening in Portland. They’re going in the exact opposite direction with this defund the police effort that they’ve launched. They own all of that. So you can understand why they don’t want to talk about anything but COVID.”
