U.S. Rep. Moore: ‘Dangerous’ Ketanji Brown Jackson is ‘most radical’ SCOTUS nominee in history

Thursday, the U.S. Senate in a mostly partisan 53-47 vote confirmed President Joe Biden’s nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Joining Democrats in supporting Jackson’s confirmation to the nation’s high court were moderate U.S. Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) sounded the alarm over Jackson’s confirmation, taking issue with evidence that came to bear during her hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In a statement issued Thursday, Moore proclaimed that Jackson was “beholden to the same radical elements” that “control” the White House.

“Ketanji Brown-Jackson is the most radical Supreme Court nominee ever considered by the Senate, and her confirmation to our highest court is woefully dangerous to our nation,” declared Moore in a release. “Brown-Jackson’s leniency for child sex offenders, support of divisive CRT, outright refusal to define what a woman is – something any elementary school student could easily do – make clear she is totally beholden to the same radical elements that have the White House under their control.”

Moore explained that the most concerning revelation was Jackson’s response to a written question submitted by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in which the senator asked if she held a position on whether individuals possess “natural rights.” Jackson responded by stating that she did not hold a position on the subject.

Moore concluded, “Perhaps most outrageously, she claims to hold no position on natural rights. Our founders created our Constitution to protect our God-given natural rights, and a Justice who does not believe in the fundamental underpinnings of our Constitution places all our rights and freedoms in jeopardy.”

Jackson will begin her lifetime tenure on the Supreme Court this summer when Justice Stephen Breyer retires from the high court after nearly three decades of service.
