A strong conservative congressman and close ally of President Donald Trump is showing his support for one of the candidates in the race to be Alabama’s next U.S. Senator in 2026.

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), founding Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, endorsed U.S. Rep Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) for the U.S. Senate on Tuesday.

“Barry Moore is a tested conservative champion,” Jordan said. “He will fight for our principles, help accomplish the Trump agenda, and keep our Nation strong. Barry is just the type of leader we need in the Senate to stand up against the Radical Left.”

Jordan was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006. In 2015, he and seven colleagues founded the House Freedom Caucus, and he became its founding Chairman. He is also the current chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

Moore, who is a member of the House Freedom Caucus and also sits on the House Judiciary Committee, thanked Jordan for the endorsement. He is currently running against Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and former U.S. Navy SEAL Jared Hudson.

“I’m honored to have Jim Jordan’s support,” Moore said. “For years, he has been one of my closest allies and our conservative rock in the U.S. House. He always stands up for what’s right, he’s not a weathervane politician, and he knows I’m not either. I look forward to continuing to work with him to achieve President Trump’s MAGA Agenda in the Senate.”

Moore, who has served in Congress since 2020, launched his campaign in August and promised to continue his support of President Donald Trump and the “America First” agenda if elected to the higher chamber.
