U.S. Rep. Barry Moore moves to rescind Biden’s ‘ghost gun’ rule — ‘This is a slap in the face to every law-abiding gun owner’

President Joe Biden in April announced executive action against so-called “ghost guns,” which directed the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to expand the definition of firearms.

The Biden administration’s rule classifies gun kits as firearms under the Gun Control Act. The reclassification requires commercial manufacturers to become licensed and mandates that serial numbers be placed on the kits. Additionally, the rule requires commercial sellers to run background checks before selling the kits.

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) recently became an original co-sponsor of the Congressional Review Act Joint Resolution of Disapproval (CRA), which would prevent the DOJ from implementing the White House’s rule.

In a statement announcing his legislative effort, Moore called the Biden administration’s executive action against firearms a “slap in the face” to law-abiding gun owners.

“This is yet another attack by the anti-Second Amendment Left to deprive Americans of their Constitutional freedoms,” said Moore in a release. “President Biden’s ghost gun rule is another distraction from the reality that the explosions of crime in blue cities are directly attributable to those same cities install progressive prosecutors, and implement policies that defund the police and put the rights of criminals above victims. This is a slap in the face to every law-abiding gun owner, and I will not sit back at let the Democrats’ false narratives strip our Second Amendment rights away.”
