U.S. Rep. Barry Moore: ‘A closed border is a compassionate border’

During an appearance on Newsmax TV’s “The Chris Salcedo Show” on Friday, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) criticized the Biden administration for what he deemed an open border policy.

Moore reiterated the point he had made in a video posted on his Facebook account arguing the merits of a secured border.

“[I]t’s actually Americans last,” Moore said of Biden’s approach to border security.

“What we have right is a situation where the Democratic Party — they’re creating drug mules,” he continued. “These people have to pay passage to the drug cartels. The Mexican drug cartels control the U.S. southern border. And you have two ways — you can either pay them for passage or you can smuggle drugs. If you don’t want to smuggle the drugs, you can be a slave to the system and make payments to the cartels in the near future. They know where your family is in Mexico and there will be repercussions if you don’t make the payments.”

“The Democratic Party with its open border policy — I said from the beginning of this process, a closed border is a compassionate border,” Moore added. “And right now we are creating a process where not only are these drugs going to our cities and our schools, and these sex traffickers and that sort of thing — we also have the issue of the Democrats wanting to defund police at the same time they’re allowing this invasion on our southern border.”
