U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville joined Larry Kudlow’s Fox Business on Monday and continued his criticism of the 2021 withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan. The botched departure cost the lives of 13 American service members after a suicide bomber used the chaos to carry out an attack at the Kabul Airport.
“It’s kind of showing the character of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, as we get into all of this, Larry,” said Tuberville (R-Auburn), who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee, which is privy to military-related intelligence reports. “It’s all coming back.”
The Senator told Kudlow that the failed mass withdrawal was “instigated” largely by the Democratic nominee for President, Kamala Harris.
“Remember, Kamala Harris was the last one in the room she says when they came up with a decision to leave the way they did and got people killed—it actually put our allies in harm’s way. They did not know that we were withdrawing from Afghanistan until we were taking off in planes and running for cover and leaving people behind.”
“It was a tragedy,” said Tuberville. “It got our people in trouble over there that actually had worked with us, Larry. The interpreters, people from Afghanistan that really laid it on the line for us to help take out the Taliban. ”
“But again, right from the very beginning, you could tell Kamala Harris and Joe Biden were not truthful.”
Tuberville expects that the Afghanistan debacle will be addressed in tonight’s Presidential debate.
“I think you’re gonna see this tomorrow night in the debate, Larry. That’s why people want Kamala Harris to come out and say what she believes in. And, you know, I hope one of the questions is about Afghanistan. Why did you [Kamala Harris] wanna do it the way that you did it?’ A lot of things are out there that are very, very untruthful.”
“And American people don’t like people to lie to them.”
