U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) had a vicious reply to Minnesota Governor and the running mate of Vice President Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, after another football centric social media post from Walz:
“Huddle up, team. It’s the final quarter. We’ve got the ball and we’re driving down field. And boy, do we have the team to win this,” Walz tweeted in reference to his alleged former high school football coaching career which has been called into question throughout the campaign.
In reply, Tuberville, famously the former head coach of both Ole Miss and Auburn, corrected him and reminded him that it’s pretty rare to call the fourth quarter the “final quarter” as Walz did.

“We call it the 4th Quarter, ‘Coach’,” Tuberville said. With the election coming up fast just days from now on Tuesday, we are indeed in the fourth quarter.
