3 DAYS REMAINING IN THE 2024 ALABAMA LEGISLATIVE SESSION

Tuberville, Britt: America ‘can’t afford’ 4 more years of Biden

President Joe Biden officially kicked off his re-election campaign Tuesday for 2024.

Instead of doing a speech at the White House or a campaign rally in a swing state, Biden posted a video on his social media with the statement: “Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) was quick to react to the announcement.

“The American people are far worse off today than they were 4 years ago,” Tuberville said on Twitter. “Just look at the cost of living, crime, border security, military recruiting, national security, and the morale of the country.”

The senator also took a shot at Biden’s campaign slogan.

“Joe Biden says he wants to ‘finish the job’,” he added. “Is the job destroying the United States of America? We need a President who wakes up everyday to fight for the American people, and that’s not Joe Biden.”

Tuberville’s colleague, Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery), also commented on the news and blasted Biden’s record.

“Inflation up 15.4% since he took office,” Britt said. “A deadly fentanyl epidemic. Historic border crisis. Enemies emboldened abroad. Continuing to double down on the policies that haven’t worked.”

“Hardworking Americans can’t afford for President Biden to ‘finish the job.'”

Britt also retweeted the video released by the Senate Republicans that criticized Biden over inflation, the border crisis, and other issues.
