U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville is continuing to advocate for America’s veterans through legislation designed to ease the everyday financial burden for those who have served and their families.

A member of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Tuberville (R-Auburn) announced the introduction of the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment of 2025 Act last week.

The bill, introduced by the chairman and ranking member of the committee, will help veterans and military service members across the country adjust to the rising cost-of-living and inflation taking place throughout the U.S.

Tuberville said specifically that the rate of disability compensation and other financial benefits issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs must be increased.

“As Alabama’s voice on the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, I want to ensure we take care of those who have protected us,” Tuberville said. “Veterans’ hard-earned benefits should keep pace with inflation and rising costs of living. I’m proud to join this legislation that would require the VA to account for a cost-of-living adjustment in its annual bottom-line budget. The department exists to serve our brave veterans, and this is one commonsense way to keep that mission top of mind.”

Additionally, the legislation would increase certain VA benefits, including disability compensation, clothing allowances, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children to reflect the reality of increases in the everyday cost of living.

It’s not the first time Tuberville has urged the USDVA to make adjustments to better the lives of veterans and their families.

In 2024, his Restoring Benefits to Defrauded Veterans Act was signed into law, allowing families of deceased defrauded veterans who passed away before their case with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to seek reimbursement for the defrauded funds.

Over the last year, Tuberville has helped introduce additional pro-veteran legislation, including the Automotive Support Services to Improved Safe Transportation (ASSIST) Act, Veterans Home Choice Act of 2025, Veterans First Act of 2025, Veteran Fraud Reimbursement Act, HBOT Access Act, and Veterans’ Assuring Critical Care Expansions to Support Servicemembers (ACCESS) Act of 2025.
