Tuberville against use of long-range missiles by Ukraine against Russia

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is calling on the Biden administration to not approve the use of long range missiles against Russia by Ukraine in the ongoing conflict.

According to reports, President Joe Biden is considering allow Ukraine to use the Western-made long range missiles on targets in Russian territory.

“We are working that our right now,” Biden told the New York Times last week.

Tuberville discussed the issue recently on “The Roger Stone Show.”

“The problem we’re having now, after getting 500-600,000 Ukrainians killed, is they’re about to start a world war now, Joe Biden and Blinken,” Tuberville said. “I don’t know what they think they’re doing, but they’re allowing the Ukrainians to shoot long range missiles into Russia, and Vladimir Putin’s not gonna put up with that very long.”

The senator said that the war in Ukraine needs to end and is hopeful that former President Donald Trump will be able to negotiate a deal if he’s elected in November.

“Again this Ukraine, Russia, war shouldn’t be going on,” he argued. “There’s not one person in this administration, the Biden-Kamala Harris administration, that knows how to negotiate anything. They’re afraid to talk to Vladimir Putin, but they will stand back and let the Ukrainians get killed, destroy their country. And at the end of the day, they’re gonna have to negotiate. President Trump will get us out of it once he gets elected.

“But there’s a lot of water underneath the bridge between now and January the 20th,” he added, “and there’s a lot more people gonna get killed. And I’m really worried about Vladimir Putin turning back and turning his guns back against more people and more NATO countries, just for the simple fact of what Biden and Kamala Harris are doing, of sending and shooting missiles from Ukraine into Russia, it makes no sense.”

Tuberville’s stance is in stark contrast to other Republican members of Congress, including U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Saks) who joined in on a letter recently asking Biden to ease restrictions on Ukraine’s ability to fight Russia.

“It is far past time the administration reverses course and lifts the remaining restrictions on Ukraine’s use of U.S.-provided weapons against legitimate military targets in Russia,” the letter said.

Rogers chairs the House Armed Service Committee and has been a long time advocate of Ukraine’s efforts against Russian aggression.
