Trump sees election betting odds surge after Biden debate disaster

With the earliest Presidential debate in an election cycle in history taking place on Thursday night, nobody knew exactly what the American people were going to get upon tuning in. Joe Biden was noticeably and visibly weaker sounding in what was a disaster of an evening for the Democratic Party.

Election bookmakers took notice, and Trump has seen his odds to win the Presidency soar over the last 12 hours.

According to Polymarket, Trump saw his odds climb to the highest they have ever been with a 65 percent chance of winning the Presidency.

Biden, meanwhile, saw his chances go from 34% to 23%, while California Governor Gavin Newsom’s odds doubled from 3% to 6%.

According to another source, Election Betting Odds, Biden’s chances have dropped by nearly 14 percent in the last 24 hours, while Trump has risen nearly 5%. The same site also has an even stronger rise from Newsom than Trump, climbing nearly 7% over the past day.

Vice President Kamala Harris has also seen a noticeable jump from the same source as well as well, going from 1.8% to 4.2%.

On Friday morning, markets have implied a greater than 40 percent chance that Biden will drop out of the race, a number that could keep climbing over the weekend.
