Tommy Tuberville is right that data centers can bring major investment and tax revenue to Alabama.

But simply saying Alabama is going to build them isn’t enough.

There are legitimate questions about power, water, infrastructure, utility costs, and where these massive projects should be located. Those concerns need answers, not dismissal.

A better strategy would be to aggressively pursue data centers while directing incentives toward communities that desperately need economic development and putting safeguards in place to protect existing residents.

Doug Jones is trying to turn data centers into a political liability for Tuberville.

The best response isn’t backing away from them. It’s explaining how Alabama can build them better.
