A federal jury convicted a Montgomery man this week on robbery and firearm charges tied to a four-day armed crime spree that targeted multiple local businesses in 2025, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama.

Rayshon Frances Demonta Hall, 24, of Montgomery, was found guilty on three counts of robbery and three counts of brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a federal crime of violence following a three-day trial.

According to court records and evidence presented at trial, Hall and co-defendant Najari Denarka Mitchell carried out a series of armed robberies over a four-day period in Montgomery.

Prosecutors said the spree began Aug. 1, 2025, when the pair robbed a fast-food restaurant on Troy Highway while threatening an employee with a firearm. The following day, the defendants robbed an auto parts store on Fairview Avenue before later targeting a Troy Highway gas station on Aug. 4.

Hall now faces a sentence ranging from 21 years to life in federal prison without the possibility of parole. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled in the coming months.

“Armed robberies place innocent employees and customers in danger and create fear throughout the community,” said Acting United States Attorney Kevin Davidson. “This verdict demonstrates that those who choose to terrorize businesses with violence and firearms will be held accountable in federal court.”

“FBI Mobile is focused on protecting our neighborhoods from violent crime and the fear it creates,” said Special Agent in Charge Sara J. Jones. “We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to identify, investigate, and hold accountable those who threaten public safety.”

Mitchell, 21, previously pleaded guilty to his role in the three robberies involving Hall, along with one attempted robbery and two charges for brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a federal crime of violence. Federal prosecutors said Mitchell also admitted to four additional armed robberies committed in Montgomery before partnering with Hall.

Those robberies included a June 5, 2025, robbery at a cell phone store, a June 20 robbery at the same Troy Highway gas station later targeted with Hall, a June 24 robbery at a gas station on Eastern Boulevard, and a July 28 robbery at another gas station on Virginia Loop Road.

Mitchell is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 26, 2026, and faces a 300-month prison sentence under his plea agreement.

The case was investigated by the FBI, the Montgomery Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mark E. Andreu and Eric M. Counts prosecuted the case.
