The lottery should not be a major issue in the 2026 race for Alabama governor because both candidates appear to support it

When U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville was asked about his position on the lottery, he gave what could possibly be the best answer I have heard on it: Sure, do it, BUT know we need real growth in this state, not gimmicks.

Tuberville seems as if he is fine with the legislature putting on the ballot, but he wants to bring in real growth for Alabama’s economy, which isn’t going to come with a lottery.
