The Pruitt family has football in the state of Alabama coursing through their veins.
Former Alabama defensive coordinator and Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt has had the chance over the last couple of years to experience those roots again, and he’s done it with his father and legendary Plainview head coach Dale.
Dale Pruitt has coached the Plainview Bears for 30 seasons, but he almost stepped away before this season due to his wife having health problems.
That’s when Jeremy stepped in and told his father he would take on a bigger role on the coaching staff to take some of the load off.
Trevor Denton of WAAY TV told the story of the Pruitt’s of Plainview in a recent segment:
“The only bad thing about it is that usually when we have a disagreement he’s right,” Dale joked about working with the elite defensive mind his son has.
“He thinks he’s always right, but most of the time he is!”
The Bears have an undefeated record heading into their second round playoff matchup against Alexandria, and as Jeremy prepares to head back to the college ranks to take a position with Jacksonville State, this will be a season both of the Pruitts always remember.
