The holiday season is upon us. Thanksgiving is next week, and stores are already filled with turkeys, Christmas decorations, and Black Friday deals.
Broadway Baptist Church in Rainsville is also preparing for Christmas. Once again, members of the church are inviting everyone to Walk Through Bethlehem without leaving the state. For several years now, the area beside the church has been transformed into the Town of Bethlehem, a unique experience that transports you back in time to the birthplace of Jesus.
As visitors walk through the streets of Bethlehem, they will encounter Roman soldiers, market vendors selling their wares, live animals, and reports of a special baby being born in a stable. After leaving the city, spectators will experience an outdoor drama that depicts the amazing story of Jesus’s life, complete with live actors, music, and special effects.
The event organizers stated, “We do this to share the good news about the free gift of salvation available to everyone through faith in Jesus Christ.”
The event is free, but reservations are required. To register, visit Broadway Baptist Church’s website or Facebook page and click on the Walk Through Bethlehem reservation link. The experience is offered on December 13 and 14 between 6:00 and 9:30 p.m. and on December 15 between 4:30 and 8:00 p.m.
Ages three and under are welcome, and Broadway has made sure the event is enjoyable for all ages. Please do not include them in your group number, as there is a limit of 15 per group.
