State Sen. Jack Williams: We can count on Caroleene Dobson to represent Alabama in Congress

In less than 30 days, the voters across the country will be asked to go to the polls to decide who will be the next president of the United States of America.

The Nov. 5 election is by far one of the most important elections for America to take place in our lifetimes. I truly believe that in years to come, no matter which candidate is elected, the 2024 election will be viewed as having an impact on our country for decades to come.

For the people of Alabama, this year’s election is about more than the office of president. In addition to electing a Republican as president, we have a task at hand to elect a Republican to represent Alabama’s 2nd Congressional district.

This district was previously held by Congressman Barry Moore, who is now the representative of Congressional District 1, having been elected into that position after Alabama was forced to redraw the congressional district lines. This newly drawn district stretches from the Alabama/Mississippi state line in Grand Bay northeast to the Alabama/Georgia state line.

I have no doubt that Congressman Moore will continue to do a great job for Alabama but we need to fill District 2 with a Republican as well. Not just any Republican but one who has the same conservative values as we do in District 2. Someone who truly understands our way of life and will serve as our voice in Washington.

With that in mind, I am asking that the people of Alabama Congressional District 2 go to the polls and vote for Republican candidate Caroleene Dobson.

I have known Caroleene for several years and I have found her to be one of the most humble, passionate and hardworking people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My wife, Bobbie, and I consider her to be a friend we can trust and more importantly, she is someone who Alabama can trust to look out for their best interest.

There is no doubt in my mind that she is a person we can count on to not only represent Alabama but also the citizens of District 2. But like President Trump, Caroleene is locked in a tight race against a Democratic opponent and she cannot be elected unless the people of District 2 make it a point to go to the polls and vote for her.

Alabama voters have strongly supported President Trump in the past and I believe they will support him next month, but in order to do his job effectively he will need likeminded conservative Republicans in Congress. That is why it is so very important that Republicans go to the polls in a greater number than ever before, cast their vote for Donald J. Trump for president and Caroleene Dobson for U.S. Congress District 2.

We owe it to our children and grandchildren to get this election right.

State Sen. Jack Williams (R-Grand Bay) was elected to the Alabama Senate in 2018 after serving one term in the Alabama House of Representatives. He serves as chairman of the Alabama Senate Agriculture Committee. Williams is a native of Mobile County, grew up on his family farm, and has lived his entire life in the district he represents.
