Alabama Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter didn’t mince words after last night’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, slamming the NFL for letting wokeness infiltrate one of America’s most cherished traditions.

A performance by Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, whose Spanish-language set and anti-ICE messaging drew fire from conservatives nationwide, was injected between halves of a postseason showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

“I switched the channel as soon as the game hit halftime,” Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) posted on social media Sunday night.

“The Super Bowl is an AMERICAN tradition, and it’s shameful that the NFL allowed wokeness to hijack our halftime show.”

Past halftime shows have featured performers pushing divisive agendas, from Beyoncé’s Black Lives Matter tribute in 2016 to Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s overtly-political Super Bowl debut in 2020.

This year, Bad Bunny performed his set exclusively in Spanish, which also drew backlash from Alabama U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who dubbed it the “Woke Bowl.”

Turning Point USA hosted its own “All-American Halftime Show,” drawing over 6 million viewers with performances by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

The event, aired on YouTube and the Trinity Broadcasting Network, focused on faith, family, and freedom — and was dedicated to the late Charlie Kirk.

President Trump also blasted the choice performance as “absolutely terrible” and a “slap in the face.”
