Alabama’s Gulf Coast has a ton to offer, from beaches to near constant warm weather to Mardi Gras.
But one Baldwin County town has been ranked by Southern Living as the most beautiful coastal town throughout all of the South and all the way up to Maryland.
Fairhope, situated right on Mobile Bay, encompasses all the beauty of Alabama — so much so that the popular magazine ranked it No. 1 on its top-15 list of beautiful coastal towns.
“Slow down and spend a leisurely morning meandering through the quaint downtown filled with brick-lined alleys, boutique shops and galleries, and plenty of opportunities for al fresco dining…The historic homes and live oak-lined streets of Fairhope will have you utterly enchanted in no time at all,” the magazine says of Fairhope.

With a ton to offer from a picturesque sight perspective and things to do such as the municipal pier or just a walk around downtown, Fairhope is one of the most beautiful cities across the entire state of Alabama.
Located a mere 30-45 minutes from Alabama’s beaches, the city is a perfect balance between a beach town and a quiet, quaint place which residents and tourists alike adore.
