Sens. Tuberville, Britt visit with legislative leaders at Alabama State House

The U.S. Senate is currently on a state work week, allowing members to travel home and visit with constituents and groups after dealing with a heavy agenda in recent weeks.

Alabama’s two U.S. Senators were in Montgomery today and made a visit to the Alabama State House along their way to see state lawmakers who are now in week two of the 2024 state legislative session.

Sen. Tuberville (R-Auburn) visited with the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce earlier Thursday morning before sitting down with Alabama Speaker of the House Nathaniel Ledbetter.

“Senator Tuberville and Senator Britt are two remarkable leaders for the state of Alabama that I’m proud to call my friends,” Speaker Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) said.

“During their visit, we discussed some of the issues we’re tackling during the legislative session and the work they do daily in Washington, D.C., to support our efforts. Needless to say, Alabama is fortunate to have such a strong presence in the U.S. Senate.”

Sens. Tuberville and Britt addressed the House Republican Caucus’s luncheon. Sen. Britt (R-Montgomery) caught up with State Senate leaders, including Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth and Senate Pro Tem Greg Reed.

“Alabama is incredibly blessed with two talented, capable, and hardworking United States Senators,” Sen. Reed (R-Jasper) said. “Senator Britt and Coach Tuberville do an incredible job representing our state well, and we were very excited to welcome them to the Statehouse today and update them on all the good work we are doing to help Alabamians.”

“I am extremely proud of the job Senator Britt is doing in DC,” Lt. Governor Ainsworth said.

“She represents every single Alabamian well. She fights hard for our conservative values and brings common sense reforms to the DC bureaucracy. Alabama benefits from her extensive working knowledge of the US Senate and will for decades to come.

Wednesday is day five of the 2024 Alabama legislative session.
