Sen. Tuberville criticizes Biden’s response to U.S. troops injured in Iraq

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is demanding answers from the Biden administration about the safety of American servicemembers in the Middle East.

Seven U.S. personnel were injured on Monday in a rocket attack at Al Asad airbase in Iraq. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, Iran-aligned militia groups are responsible for the attack.

“It’s obvious that Biden-Harris administration has no answers Blinken has no answers,” Tuberville told Newsmax. “We’re going to get people killed. What’s going to happen? And all we do is we condemn. We condemn this, we condemn that. Sooner or later, we either go out to move people out, or we’re going to fight back at the end of the day. We cannot put our people over there in harm’s way and not let them protect themselves.”

Tuberville said the Biden administration would rather appease foreign adversaries than fight back against them.

“We know where the missiles are coming from,” he said. “We have great ISR. We know exactly where they’re coming from. They won’t tell anybody, because they don’t want to attack anybody back. But if President Trump was in office like he was when suddenly killed Soleimani, that’s exactly what you do. You go, you go to the head of the snake.”

Tensions have risen in the Middle East as a result of the war in Gaza. Iran has also vowed revenge against Israel after the country successfully killed a Hamas leader while he was visiting Tehran. Tuberville said the United States should fully support Israel’s efforts in the region now more than ever.

“It’s just a shame that we’re not backing Israel more,” he argued. “Give them the weapons. We’re holding weapons from Israel. We’re not giving the weapons that they’re supposed to be getting. They’ve actually paid for some weapons….that we have not sent back to Israel. We’re holding them. Biden and Harris are are trying to do whatever they can to ride the fence, and they’ve done that the whole time. It’s gonna blow up in America’s face. It’s gonna blow up in the Middle East is what’s going to happen.”
