Sarah Huckabee Sanders endorses Katie Britt in U.S. Senate runoff election

Wednesday, former Trump White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced her endorsement of Katie Britt in Alabama’s 2022 race for the U.S. Senate.

Sanders, the daughter of former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, recently notched the GOP nomination in Arkansas’ gubernatorial primary election.

In a statement announcing her endorsement of Britt, Sanders asserted that the first-time candidate would serve to advance the 45th president’s “America First” agenda as Alabama’s junior senator.

“I’m excited to endorse Katie Britt to serve as the next U.S. Senator for Alabama,” proclaimed Sanders. “Katie is the leader we need in the Senate to fight for our Christian conservative values, advance the America First agenda, defend the sacred right to life, and stand strong against Joe Biden’s radical agenda and reckless policies. I know Katie will be a champion for faith, family, and freedom!”

In response to her candidacy’s most recent endorsement, Britt hailed Sanders as a “conservative fighter” and stated her intentions to promote policies that benefitted American workers as a member of the U.S. Senate.

“I’m thrilled to have the endorsement of Sarah Huckabee Sanders,” stated Britt. “Sarah is a conservative fighter and an unwavering voice for the America First movement. As Alabama’s Senator, I will fight for policies that put American workers and families first.”

She continued, “This includes securing our border and finishing building President Trump’s wall, achieving American energy independence and dominance, fixing the baby formula crisis, onshoring good-paying jobs, shoring up our domestic manufacturing and supply chains, ending the reckless spending that’s pouring fuel on Joe Biden’s inflationary fire, putting money back in everyday Americans’ pockets, and hardening our schools to keep our children safe. Together, we will save the country we know and love for our children and our children’s children.”

Sanders’ endorsement of Britt marks consecutive days in which the senatorial candidate received the public backing of a prominent Arkansas Republican as U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) on Tuesday announced his support of her campaign.

Britt will face U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) in the June 21 Republican primary runoff election to determine the GOP’s nominee to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Tuscaloosa).
