In an interview with ESPN’s Maria Taylor this week, University of Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban discussed how he is coping with the temporary new normal of working remotely.
In a clip posted on social media, Taylor first asked Saban if he uses FaceTime.
“Yeah, we do Zoom, we do FaceTime,” Saban responded.
“I mean, the one positive of this for me is I even have an email now,” he continued. “So, you know I’ve come a long way.”
“It was hard to communicate when you have to be by yourself and you always depend on somebody else to get your emails and messages and all that. It just didn’t work, aight.” Saban explained, before adding with a big smile, “And they were sending them all to Miss Terry, aight. She fired me. She said, ‘I’m not dealing with your stuff anymore.’ So I had to do it on my own.”
Taylor noted that last time she had talked to him, he was not even sending text messages on his cell phone.
“No, I’m like, ‘Call me.’ That’s about as far as it goes on the text part of it,” Saban acknowledged.
Once again noting his newfound emailing, Saban concluded, “I’ve really come a long way.”
