The reigning UFL champion Birmingham Stallions may be on the move, according to a new report detailing major changes across the spring football league.

According to league insider James Larsen, all four of the former USFL teams who joined the XFL teams to form the UFL last season will be relocated to new markets for the 2026 season.

The Stallions, who had won two straight USFL titles before claiming the inaugural UFL title for the three-peat, falling just short of an incredible four-peat, would be leaving Birmingham and the state of Alabama entirely if the report proves to be true.

The league did not confirm nor deny the discussions when asked for comment.

“Every year, the League office looks at planning for next season and beyond. At this point, we have nothing to report on any unauthorized speculation,” the UFL Told USA Today.

Larsen later reported that the new markets the former USFL teams would be headed to include Boise (Idaho), Columbus (Ohio), Florida (likely Orlando), and Kentucky (Louisville/Lexington).

According to Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin, the decision is not final, and deliberations with the league are ongoing.

“We’ve heard the rumors from unofficial sources and have been assured by the league that no final decisions have been made about numerous teams for next season, including the Stallions,” Woodfin wrote on Wednesday afternoon.
