When I first came to Washington to represent Alabama’s First Congressional District in Congress, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats controlled the U.S. House. Just a few days after I got here, the Biden-Harris administration took office. I witnessed firsthand the constant chaos, abuse of authority, and reckless spending, plus the erosion of personal freedom and liberty. Democrats in Congress and the Biden-Harris administration put Americans last day after day.
Under their watch, our borders have been opened wide and illegal immigrants have been given every incentive to break the law, move here, and be subsidized by hardworking Americans just trying to make ends meet. We’ve seen energy prices and the cost of basic goods skyrocket while the world and even our own neighborhoods become less safe. Simply put, most Americans are worse off today than they were when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn in.
My House Republican colleagues and I have fought back, and we’ve delivered on our Commitment to America since we took the gavel out of Nancy Pelosi’s hands nearly two years ago. We’ve voted for the most significant spending cuts in recent history, the largest pay raise in decades for our servicemembers, the strongest-ever immigration legislation, and we’ve consistently fought back against constant overreach by the Biden-Harris administration. We’ve had a lot of success, but there is so much more to be done.
There is so much at stake in this November election, and it truly alarms me to think of what this country could look like if we don’t get things under control. So many Americans can’t afford to pay their utility bills, put gas in the car, and cover the cost of daycare for their children. They can’t afford the life they were able to live before the failed leadership of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and it will only get worse under a Kamala Harris administration.
The American people have the opportunity to choose between a stronger, freer, and more prosperous nation, or give Kamala Harris the reins to continue putting Americans last and further weakening our country.
Although we are at an important crossroads in America, I have faith in the American people, and I am confident we will emerge from these tough times stronger than ever. We just need to show up and VOTE!
