Removed, embarrassed, disgraced… Alabama judges can still find their way back to the job.

An Alabama judge has now been suspended amid allegations of unprofessional conduct and racist remarks, including accusations that she delayed hearings to walk her dogs.

At the same time, Alabama voters recently returned a former judge connected to years-old judicial misconduct scandals back to public office, proving that, unfortunately, embarrassment and controversy don’t have to end careers permanently.
