Jay Mitchell, a former Alabama Supreme Court Justice now running for Attorney General, is putting radical Islamic extremists on notice with a new “Protect Alabama Plan” unveiled Monday.

Mitchell, a former Alabama Supreme Court Justice, outlined the plan in a press release on Monday.

The proposal includes enforcing Alabama’s prohibition against Sharia Law, designating groups such as CAIR, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Students for Justice in Palestine as domestic terror organizations, and improving intelligence sharing across law enforcement jurisdictions.

“We’ve seen what happens when the spread of radical Islamic extremism goes unchallenged in places like Dearborn, Minneapolis, and New York City,” Mitchell said. “To keep Alabama from becoming another cautionary tale, we must proactively identify terrorist networks, aggressively enforce state law, and reject anti-American agendas without apology.”

The plan also calls for outlawing dark money and enforcing financial transparency laws for schools, nonprofits, and political campaigns, along with strengthening penalties for concealment, fraud, and material support tied to foreign or domestic terror organizations.

Mitchell’s proposal would also toughen protections for churches, synagogues, and schools facing terrorist threats.

Mitchell is one of three Republican candidates running for Attorney General, alongside Katherine Robertson and Pamela Casey.

The primary election will be held on May 19th.
