Regions Financial, Vulcan Materials make Fortune 500

Two Birmingham-based companies have made the prestigious annual Fortune 500 list.

Regions Financial and Vulcan Materials were among the list that featured some of the largest and must successful corporations in the entire country.

Regions came in at 483rd on the list, and Vulcan ranked 494th.

Regions generated $7.5 billion in revenue during the 2022 fiscal period; Vulcan amassed $7.3 billion.

“At Vulcan Materials Company we are committed to operating the Vulcan Way – doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time,” Vulcan Materials Chairman and CEO Tom Hill said. “These recognitions are a credit to our employees who work each day to deliver value to our customers, communities, and shareholders.”

Vulcan was also named as one of the top 200 Best Companies to Work For by U.S. News and World Report last week.

The Fortune 500 ranking methodology includes: revenues, profits, balance sheet, employees, earnings per share, total return to investors, medians, and credits.

The top 5 of the Fortune 500 this year, in order were: Walmart, Amazon, Exxon Mobil, Apple, and United Health Group.
