Clay County Public Fishing Lake will reopen next weekend, according to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
The lake, which will reopen Sept. 2, had been closed while transitioning to the new managers Greg and Victoria Clark. The lake is one mile west of the town of Delta on State Lake Road.
The facility features three lakes totaling 74 surface acres, public restrooms, a covered fishing pier and a boat ramp. Bait, fishing tackle and snacks may be purchased at the lake. In addition to a valid fishing license, a daily $3 fishing permit is required.
Alabama’s State Public Fishing Lakes are managed by the Conservation Department for quality fishing for largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish and crappie (in most lakes).
