President Trump proclaims U.S. will be ‘world capital of artificial intelligence and crypto’

President Trump has been open about the goal. Both before, and since taking office, he’s made it clear he has big plans for cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence.

Before taking office, Trump stated to officials close to him that he plans on designating cryptocurrency as a ‘national priority’, something which would involve government agencies being forced to work alongside industry experts in order to cultivate a space where cryptocurrency would be allowed to flourish and take an even more prominent spot in the world’s economy than it already has.

On Thursday, Trump addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland virtually from Washington and among many other topics prominently addressed the country’s goals both for AI and crypto.

“We will make the United States a manufacturing superpower, and the world capital of artificial intelligence and crypto,” Trump declared.

Previously, Trump spoke about Bitcoin on the campaign trail at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in July, pledging to make the United States the “crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world.’

The price of Bitcoin has continued to soar since Trump has taken office, reaching an all-time high over $108,000 on the day he was inaugurated and not having dipped below $100,000 since he assumed the presidency once again.

Just today, President Trump signed an executive order eliminating virtually all Biden-era AI policies.

The White House reports the outcome will enhance America’s global AI dominance. Trump also revoked Biden’s dangerous order hindering AI innovation and imposing onerous and unnecessary government control over the development of AI.

On Thursday, Trump called for departments and agencies to revise or rescind all policies, directives, regulations, orders, and other actions taken under the Biden AI order that are inconsistent with enhancing America’s leadership in AI.
