President Donald Trump will headline a historic midterm rally on Friday, October 2, at the Mitchell Center on the University of South Alabama campus, Trump 47 Committee, Inc. announced Thursday night.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the rally starts at 6 p.m. An RSVP is required, and guests are limited to four tickets.
Earlier today, Politico first reported the trip as tentative and called it “a curious move in a deep-red state” while Republicans defend U.S. Senate seats in Alaska and Texas. Politico’s reasoning is that Democrats have no real shot at statewide office in Alabama.
Trump has a powerful track record in Mobile.
He drew the largest crowd of his first campaign to that point at Ladd-Peebles Stadium over ten years ago, in August 2015, and then-State Rep. Barry Moore became the first elected official in the nation to endorse him at that rally.
Moore, after several terms in Congress, is now the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate. U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is the Republican nominee for governor against Doug Jones, the Democrat he unseated in 2020 with Trump’s endorsement. Moore faces no real competition in November in Democrat Everett Wiss.

In September, the Trump administration approved a $2.52 billion federal loan for the Mobile River Bridge, the largest infrastructure project in Alabama history, and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is expected in Mobile on the day of the planned Trump rally for the groundbreaking.
Former Alabama Republican Party Chairman and GOP nominee for Lt. Governor of Alabama in 2026, John Wahl, said he’s excited to welcome the president back to the Yellowhammer State.
“This will be an incredible opportunity for Alabamians to hear directly from President Trump and be part of a truly historic event,” Wahl said Thursday night.

Former U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile), the GOP nominee in the 1st Congressional District, said the visit will “help rally our Republican base for District 1 and District 2.”
