‘Pray for his recovery’: Alabama congressional delegation reacts to Biden’s cancer diagnosis:

Members of Alabama’s Congressional delegation are wishing former President Joe Biden well after it was announced that he has prostate cancer.

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” President Trump said on Truth Social. “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Biden’s personal office announced the diagnosis on Sunday.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the office said in a statement. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”

“Cancer touches us all,” Biden said on social media.

Members of Alabama Congressional delegation said they were praying for the former President.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with President Biden and his family on the recent news of his cancer diagnosis. President Biden has been a fighter his whole life. I am confident that his strength and resilience will serve him well through this health challenge,” U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) said. “On behalf of the people of Alabama 7th Congressional District, we are praying for strength, healing and a full recovery.”

“We are praying for President Biden and wish him a speedy path to remission and recovery,” said U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery).

“I echo President Trump in his wishes for the former President and pray for his recovery,” said U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville).
