‘Pennies on the dollar’: Tuscaloosa businessman buys truckloads of border wall sold by Biden-Harris Administration

A Tuscaloosa businessman has purchased and imported truckloads of uninstalled southern border wall sections that had been placed in storage after the large-scale barrier’s construction was halted in 2021.

“President Trump bought the materials, started construction, Vice President (Border Czar) Kamala Harris and her Administration stopped construction and began selling off thousands of truckloads,” said Stan Pate on X.

“Last week I purchased tons and tons of wall panels from a Government auction for pennies on the dollar. She’s scrapping it out! If she had her way she would cut down what is already up!”

“When it comes to Kamala being tough on the border, Do we believe what we hear? Or what we see?”

The Biden-Harris Administration issued an executive order on Day 1, ending the development of a southern border wall and placing the remaining panels in storage to be sold at a loss.

“Building a massive wall that spans the entire southern border is not a serious policy solution,” reads the order issued by Joe Biden. “It is a waste of money that diverts attention from genuine threats to our homeland security.  My Administration is committed to ensuring that the United States has a comprehensive and humane immigration system that operates consistently with our Nation’s values.”

“In furtherance of that commitment, I have determined that the declaration of a national emergency at our southern border was unwarranted.”

In 2023, it cost the Department of Defense $160,000 each month to store 20,822 unused border wall panels. The government has been selling wall materials on the auction website GovPlanet, which specializes in military surplus.
