Paul Finebaum returns to Alabama, purchases estate in Mountain Brook

One of Birmingham’s most famous former residents is moving back to the Yellowhammer State.

According to a story from the Birmingham Business Journal, SEC Network analyst and one of the most well known figures in sports media, Paul Finebaum, is purchasing a 12,165-square-foot, five-bedroom, eight-bathroom home Mountain Brook home with his wife Linda for a nice price tag of just over $5.1 million.

Finebaum, who lived in Birmingham and did radio for many years before his move to ESPN twelve years ago, returns to the state where he first rose to prominence as a media figure.

“We have been talking about moving back for several years,” Finebaum told AL.com. “We have been gone nearly 12 years and felt this was the right time.”

Finebaum said he and Linda were ‘smitten’ with the home during a trip to Birmingham for the Holidays before a call from their realtor to have them look at the residence came in before they headed back to Charlotte.

The move is not expected to impact the Paul Finebaum Show, which still airs from Charlotte, but seeing how things evolve over the next several years is worth monitoring for the millions of daily listeners throughout the South.
