After announcing her candidacy for Attorney General in January, Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey has kicked off her campaign with notable early support from individual donors.
According to ALPolitics.com, the Republican’s campaign reported 106 contributions within the first 12 days of fundraising, with donations coming from all seven of Alabama’s congressional districts. Supporters include law enforcement officers, district attorneys, educators, and business owners. Casey is pointing to her prosecutorial background and courtroom experience as key qualifications for the office.

She was first elected as district attorney in 2010 at age 29, making her the youngest female district attorney in Alabama at the time. Before serving in Blount County, she worked as both an assistant and deputy attorney general for the state.
She is also noted as the only district attorney currently in the race and one of only two attorneys in Alabama who hold National Board Certification in Criminal Trial Law.
If elected, Casey would become the first woman in state history to serve as Alabama’s Attorney General.
Other Republican candidates in the race include former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Katherine Robertson and Chief Counsel to current Attorney General Steve Marshall.
The Republican primary is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
