Tourists and locals in Orange Beach, Alabama are quite used to seeing planes overhead pulling advertising banners. The trailing messages are usually about local restaurants, stores and entertainment.
On Friday, a different kind of message was aloft. It was timely and timeless.
Without much room to work with, the banner delivered a powerful message with only 37 letters. It was able to both quote a scripture and honor slain crusader Charlie Kirk.
This may be the most unusual airplane banner on Alabama’s Gulf Coast:
“Psalm 116:15. C.KIRK, A SAINT IN GOD’S HANDS.”
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints,” Psalm 116:15 reads.
A Christian who dies is delivered into the hands of the Lord. Charlie Kirk, being an avowed believer, is now in God’s hands, just as the flying banner says.
Charlie Kirk himself had talked about the transition of a living Christian into the hands of God. His social media posts include these statements:
“Jesus defeated death so you can live.”
“Whether he lives or whether he passes, his soul is in the hands of Almighty GOD.”
The testimony of Charlie Kirk lives after him.
