Former University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban was revealed as the special guest for the Business Council of Alabama’s (BCA) annual “Evening for Progress” event.
“The greatest football coach of all time, the legendary Coach Nick Saban, will be joining us in Birmingham at the Evening of Progress on October 16th in Birmingham,” Will Wilson, ProgressPAC’s chairman said. “Now that Coach is retired, every chance we get time to hear him is exciting, and trust me, this will be a night you don’t want to miss.”
“I’ll remind you that last year on this same stage my past Chairman Mark Drew unveiled an ambitious goal of fundraising of $4 million for the 2026 election cycle. Since then, our dedicated team at BCA has worked tirelessly towards this, and we’ve already surpassed the halfway mark. Ladies and gentlemen, it is clear here today that the upcoming 2026 election will be historic. In 2026, our voters are going to shape the course of our government for the next decade,” Wilson said.

At the Evening for Progress in 2022, BCA honored the service of former U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby who retired after serving more than four decades in Congress, joined by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Last year, former U.S. Reps. Trey Gowdy and Joe Cunningham were the keynote speakers.
