Nick Saban to address Mercedes workers amid ongoing union push in Alabama

Saban, who famously owns multiple Mercedes-Benz dealerships, will reportedly address workers at the company’s Vance plant on Thursday amid growing discussion of unionization.

At the beginning of the year in January, the United Autoworkers Union announced that it planned to unionize workers at the plant at that over 30% of them had already signed union cards.

Now, the news of Saban addressing the workers comes just days after it was announced that over half of the employees have now signed their union cards.

The meeting with Saban is reportedly mandatory for all employees and team members, though it is unclear exactly what Saban would be addressing.

Saban has previously been an outspoken advocate for the unionization of college athletics as the sport continues to change and evolve.

Through Saban’s Dream Motor Group, he owns seven Mercedes dealerships throughout the Southeast, though he is generally very hands off.
