Sessions drops 5 nuggets of conservative wisdom in under 100 seconds

(Above: Sen. Jeff Sessions discusses how the federal government is hurting American workers)

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Mobile, this week continued his crusade for American workers and against amnesty by posting a YouTube video titled “Washington Policies Are Shrinking Wages, Growing Deficits.” Unlike most of the staged videos you see from politicians, it appears this one was done without a script.

In the video, which runs 98 seconds, Sessions rips off point after point as to why the federal government is currently helping the Washington class at the expense of the middle class. Washington has added an unbelievable $7 trillion to the federal debt in the last five years, yet Americans’ take-home pay has fallen in each of those five years.

Bottom line: Washington is booming while the middle class is hurting.

Here are the Top 5 Nuggets of Conservative Wisdom Sen. Sessions shared in the above video:

1. “[The government is] impacting adversely the ability of America to produce American energy, creating jobs in the process.”
2. “We shouldn’t be doubling the number of guest workers that would be coming into America through this immigration reform when we already have high unemployment and falling wages.”
3. “You can’t regulate our way to prosperity.”
4. “This idea that we can borrow, tax, spend and create more debt to make America better in the long run is doomed to failure.”
5. “You can’t tax the economy and anyone in it over and over again and expect that will make the economy grow better.”

Washington is making things worse — really and truly it is. It’s taxing too much. It’s regulating too much. It’s impacting adversely the ability of America to produce American energy, creating jobs in the process… We can defend American manufacturing and workers on the world stage by insisting on fair trade. We don’t need to bring in more workers than America can absorb. We shouldn’t be doubling the number of guest workers that would be coming into America through this immigration reform when we already have high unemployment and falling wages. So, yes, we can do more. We can make the government leaner and more productive so that it produces more good for the citizens for every dollar that we send to it. There’s no doubt we can do better about that. So these things would make America better, create jobs, growth, prosperity, higher wages — all without adding to the debt. This idea that we can borrow, tax, spend and create more debt to make America better in the long run is doomed to failure. You can’t regulate our way to prosperity. You can’t tax the economy and anyone in it over and over again and expect that will make the economy grow better. So, really good, smart policy, the kind of thing that most Americans would see as common sense is what we need to return to. And I believe it would help this economy bounce back and grow because for way too long, we’ve had just unacceptable growth.
