(Video) Gov. Pence: Gary Palmer ‘man of integrity, strong conservative views’

While Indiana Gov. Mike Pence was in Birmingham to speak at the Alabama Republican Party summer dinner, he sat down with Yellowhammer News CEO Cliff Sims to film an episode of The Exchange, Yellowhammer’s weekly interview feature.

Rather than releasing the entire interview at once, Yellowhammer will be rolling it out in pieces throughout this week, an approach we will be trying out with future Exchange interviews as well.

Pence, who is rumored to be a potential candidate for President in 2016, recently endorsed Alabama 6th Congressional District Candidate Gary Palmer. Sims asked him why.

“I’ve known Gary Palmer for many years and I was proud to endorse him,” Pence replied. “He’s a man of integrity, strong conservative views, and I believe he’ll be a leader the day that he arrives on Capitol Hill. That’ll be a decision for a people of the 6th District in the State of Alabama, but from up in the Hoosier State, I’m proud to support Gary Palmer. I hope he has a chance to bring his clarion conservative voice into the well of Congress.”

Palmer and state representative Paul DeMarco are facing off in a runoff, which is scheduled to take place July 15th.

Check back throughout the week to hear Gov. Pence’s thoughts on Medicaid Expansion, whether or not he’s going to run for President in 2016, and more.
