Greg Jones, a familiar face at the Alabama State House, has been named a 2026 Top Lobbyist by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics.

Jones, founder of The Jones Group, was selected from more than 500 nominations nationwide for the list of 100 professionals recognized for achievements, leadership, integrity and contributions to the lobbying and government affairs profession, the firm announced.

“I am truly honored to receive this recognition from my peers across the country,” Jones said.

“For more than 25 years, I’ve believed that effective advocacy starts with relationships, trust, and understanding the needs of the people and organizations we represent. This honor reflects not only my work, but the dedication of our entire team at The Jones Group and the clients who have placed their confidence in us.”

Jones launched the firm in 2005 with five clients after serving as the top governmental affairs leader for the Alabama State Employees Association.

He is a frequent flyer on Yellowhammer News’ annual Power & Influence list.

His client portfolio heading into the 2027 legislative session includes Apple, Inc., a variety of county and municipal governments across the state, the Business Council of Alabama, and the Alabama Association of Realtors, among others.
