Nate Oats makes NBA Finals appearance

Alabama men’s basketball head coach was in the building for Game Five of the NBA Finals in Boston to see the Boston Celtics take on the Dallas Mavericks.

While Oats’ appearance in Boston may have seemed like a mystery at first glance, it makes more sense when you consider the fact that one of his former players, JD Davison, is actually on the team despite only having appeared in eight games this season.

Though he did not see many minutes, Davison will be the first Alabama player from the Nate Oats era to receive an NBA championship ring.

Perhaps Oats brought some good luck to Boston, as the Celtics were able to close out the Finals and win the series 4-1 after losing Game Four in Dallas.
