The United States Senate Race in Alabama has seen a serious twist in the first quarter, with former Trump official and Tuberville staffer Morgan Murphy raising huge levels of cash in his pursuit of the seat.
According to a release from Murphy for Senate, the campaign has raised $1,057,949 after just officially entering the race on October 1, 2025, significantly more than any other candidate’s first quarter total.
“From Afghanistan to the White House and all points in between, the honor of my life has been serving our country. I’m proud to volunteer to serve again, this time to continue Senator Tuberville’s (R-Auburn) legacy as the strongest MAGA voice in the U. S. Senate,” Murphy said in a statement.
With more than 10,000 contributions from over 6,700 donors across all 50 states for an average donation of less than $70, Murphy is the only candidate to this point who has established broad nationwide support from grassroots conservatives.
“I backed Morgan early because I knew he’d be a powerhouse in Washington. It’s clear he has strong grassroots support behind his campaign,” said K.T. McFarland, deputy national security advisor to President Trump.
“Since launching his campaign, Morgan has made 34 national media appearances,” added Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller. “He’s a clear, strong voice for President Trump and the State of Alabama. I’m not surprised, given he’s been that voice for the Department of War and U.S. Navy for 26 years.”
A captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Murphy has served for 26 years and worked in both Trump administrations, as well as Senator Tuberville’s national security advisor between the two terms.
This will be his first run for public office and clearly it’s off to a pretty solid start.
