Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall was in New York City today to show his support for President Donald Trump amid the left’s latest push, in the form of a criminal trial, to disqualify the former president from holding office again.
“Thirty years I have been a prosecutor and cared desperately about what goes on in our criminal justice system and I have never seen in my career a greater perversion of the criminal justice system than I witnessed this morning,” Marshall said after exiting the courtroom.
He was particularly displeased with the line of questioning directed towards one time Trump lawyer-turned informant Michael Cohen.
“There were more questions about Michael Cohen’s feelings than we did connecting him to any criminal offense.”

Marshall also referenced findings from the former District Attorney of New York County, New York regarding the attempt to put Trump on trial.
“When I was a district attorney I had the privilege of being able to work with Cy Vance. I know that his team reviewed these facts and rejected any effort to use the resources of this city to pursue a sham prosecution.”

In April, the Attorney General also questioned the legal bedrock of the case being made by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the political motivations of those involved.
“Let’s look at where power has been abused already,” Marshall said. “It took 30 months for the special prosecutor to bring these charges that relate to facts that have been reported for quite some time. And when we look about the question of delay, whether or not we’re going to have a trial in a timely manner, they don’t need to look at President Trump’s trial team.”
“The question is why the special counsel had to wait so long to bring these charges to begin with?”
