The state of Alabama has some of the most passionate sports fans in the entire country, and fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide have always been able to show off their school spirit with a license plate that contains the iconic ‘Script A’ logo.
Now, according to an announcement from the school, fans will be able to have the extremely popular ‘Block A’ or ‘Vault A’ vintage logo on their license plate as well, starting June 1.
Net proceeds from the license plate program — which costs residents $50 more than a regular tag — help provide state residents with scholarships.
“The new design is a great way for alumni and friends to show their school spirit while helping students reach their goals,” said Jimmy Warren, executive director of the UA National Alumni Association.
According to the association, more than 120,000 UA vehicle and motorcycle tags were sold in Alabama through the program, resulting in proceeds exceeding $5 million.
For residents who want the logo plate but recently renewed, collegiate tags may be purchased at any time, regardless of an individual’s tag renewal month.
