League of Southeastern Credit Unions endorses Ivey, Ainsworth, Marshall for reelection

Monday, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) and Affiliates announced its endorsement of candidates seeking reelection to the three highest-ranking statewide constitutional offices.

The trade association has endorsed the reelection campaigns of Gov. Kay Ivey, Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth and Attorney General Steve Marshall.

Patrick La Pine, LSCU and Affiliates CEO, in a release touted Alabama credit unions and their service to its members.

“Credit unions are dedicated to bettering the lives of their members and local communities,” stated La Pine. “Day after day, Alabama credit unions work to identify innovative solutions that will improve the financial well-being of members in every corner of the state,.”

According to a release, the association represents more than 2.3 million members of Alabama credit unions. LSCU and Affiliates advised that it would support the incumbents’ candidacies financially and through grassroots efforts.

“We are thrilled to support these candidates who align with the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People.’ We are proud to work alongside Governor Kay Ivey, Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth, and Attorney General Steve Marshall in helping Alabamians achieve financial independence and success,” he added,

“We look forward to strengthening our relationships with these candidates throughout the remainder of this election cycle and into their second terms. With these elected officials at the helm, Alabama credit unions will continue to grow and thrive,” concluded La Pine.

The primary election will take place on May 24, 2022.
